SAVE is a registered non‐profit organization (NPO) that assists communities in Cape Town. Our work involves helping other non‐profit organizations that are actively involved in communities by providing them with volunteers, assistance with building projects and funding raised by volunteers.
The fees we charge for programs only covers unavoidable costs including accommodation, transport, and a donation to SAVE to help finance the projects. In exchange the volunteer contributes to community development, experiences South African culture and makes new friends.
Every little bit helps and you can volunteer from 2 weeks up to 2 years!
Many schools in disadvantaged communities have limited finances, few teachers and overcrowded classrooms. Volunteers help ensure that children get adequate attention by working as teachers’ assistants in schools or as facilitators in educare classes.
Volunteers teach underprivileged kids to swim, kitesurf and enjoy the sea! The volunteer and kids both receive kitesurfing lessons from a certified instructor. Once the volunteer has completed the course, he or she can mentor the children further in swimming, beach kite flying or kitesurfing.
Our Wildlife Conservation, Rescue take place over several different properties to help the elephants, monkeys, vultures, eagles to mention some. The program incorporates wild, rescued and rehabilitated animals to improve their living and environmental conditions. These projects require participants (volunteers) to move between locations on completion of assigned tasks. All the locations used are within 25km of the Volunteer accommodation.
Sometimes physical and often exhilarating, this project gives volunteers a learning opportunity in a conservation initiative headed up by one of the region’s top conservationists and guide trainers.
